Everspace 2 announced at Gamescom 2019
Everspace 2 has been revealed at the Gamescom 2019 Opening Night press conference alongside a new announcement trailer.
The new game reveals from Gamescom 2019 in Cologne, Germany just keep rolling in, and this latest one is a doozy. Announced through the Gamescom 2019 Opening Night presentation, Rockfish Games has revealed Everspace 2, the latest addition to the studio's popular space-based shooter series.
As 3D space shooters go, Everspace is pretty hard to beat. The game blends deep-space, combat-oriented gameplay with a non-linear narrative and various roguelike elements to great effect, and the sequel appears to follow the same sort of recipe.
As luck would have it, alongside the game's reveal announcement came a fresh new Everspace 2 announcement trailer, filled with all the sort of damage-dealing spacecraft players would hope for. Get a taste for Everspace 2 with the announcement trailer featured below.
Here's a little bit of background flavor for the game as provided over on the Everspace 2 Steam page:
Rockfish Games plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign for Everspace 2 starting in September, and also plans to push the game to early access around the middle of 2020. So far, the game is slated to launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam, though no more specific release date or launch window has been revealed so far.
Still, if Everspace 2 manages to play as well as it looks, we're sure fans will be more than willing to wait it out.
