Weekend Console Download Deals for Aug 9: Mario Tennis Aces free week

PlayStation is celebrating the end of summer, while Nintendo serves up a free week of Mario Tennis Aces for Nintendo Switch Online members.

The summer is starting to come to a close and that means it's your last chance to squeeze in any gaming before you go back to school. For PlayStation, that means discounting almost everything that isn't nailed down. Their Celebrate Summer Sale is offering discounts on a huge chunk of PlayStation first-party games, including Days Gone and Marvel's Spider-Man. Many of 2019's best games are also on sale, like Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2, and Metro Exodus.

Nintendo also has its normal slew of indie games on sale, but there's one noteworthy first-party game that's on sale. Mario Tennis Aces is not only 30 percent off, but I hope nobody's forgotten that we're in the middle of a free week for Nintendo Switch Online members. Make sure to jump in while you have time.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak.
