Japanese Resident Evil Ambassadors seek testers for new game
What could the upcoming Resident Evil title be?
It looks like there could be a new Resident Evil game in the works, if this invitation from the Resident Evil Ambassadors program, based in Japan, is to be believed.
Recently, Capcom's Division 1 (part of the program) sent out the following email to those in the club based in Japan, selling a group of "game testers."
"To all Resident Evil Ambassadors,
Thank you for your patronage regarding the Resident Evil series.
Today, we are letting you know that we are recruiting testers for a game that’s in development!!
We are interested in incorporating the feedback of all Ambassadors into our development, so please read the details below and, if you are interested in participating, click the Entry button."
Originally reported via Resident Evil fan site Biohaze, this message indicates the testing will be on some sort of new game in development, which could mean a new entry in the Resident Evil series, or perhaps even a remake, such as Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. The email doesn't specify, but it certainly sounds like something exciting is about to go down for fans of Resident Evil.
I previously reviewed the Resident Evil 2 Remake, and awarded it a 9 out of 10. Here's what I thought:
"Don't labor under the delusion that, if you played the original Resident Evil 2, that you should skip this one for some reason. There’s no excuse of “I’ve already played the original, so I don’t need to grab this one.” You couldn’t be more wrong if that’s your line of thinking. From top to bottom, this is already an early contender for Game of the Year 2019, and one of the greatest reasons ever to be a survival horror fan. This incarnation of Resident Evil is nearly like playing a wholly different game, and in fact stands on its own as an excellent analogue to one of the greatest survival horror games of all time. Whether you're a Resident Evil fan or you're looking to delve into the terrifying world of horror gaming, you owe it to yourself to make this iteration of Resident Evil a day one purchase."
Keep an eye out for all the news about to come out of the Tokyo Game Show soon, as that's likely where we can expect some sort of announcement surrounding this bit of news to happen.
