Battle for Detroit - Detroit: Become Human
Here's how to reach every ending in Battle for Detroit, the final chapter of Detroit: Become Human.
Battle for Detroit is the 32nd and final chapter of Detroit: Become Human. As might be expected, this is where the story ends, and decisions made in this chapter affect not only the characters themselves, but the future of all androids.
Chapter 32: Battle for Detroit Endings | Detroit: Become Human
Not only is Battle for Detroit the final chapter in Detroit: Become Human, it's also the biggest, and it's here where each of the game's three main characters will reach the end of their stories.
It might be obvious, but consider this your spoiler alert: The following guide provides information on each of the possible endings to the final chapter of Detroit: Become Human. Reader discretion is advised.
Now, onto all those endings. At this point in the story, and following up on the paths taken in Chapter 30 Crossroads, some characters may be in one of two different situations:
- Connor is either continuing his mission or has chosen to become deviant.
- Kara has either been captured or is currently leaving Detroit.
- Markus is either leading a demonstration or has sparked a violent revolution.
As before, this guide will provide details of how to reach all of the available endings for each character in Detroit: Become Human. If an ending needs specific steps to be completed, they will be listed in a manner consistent with the in-game flowcharts. Finally, considering there are six different paths in this chapter, readers can use the jump links below to go straight to the branch they need.
Connor's Last Mission • Connor at the Cyberlife Tower
Kara Captured • Kara Leaving Detroit
Markus Demonstration • Markus Revolution
Battle for Detroit | All Connor's Last Mission Endings
If Connor has managed to make it all this way without becoming a deviant, his mission will soon be over. Perched on a rooftop overlooking the group of deviant androids, this path only has two different endings, one where Connor lives and one where he dies.
CyberLife Decided To Send Another Connor
If at any point Connor fails in his attacks against Hank or Capt. Allen, he will be killed, and CyberLife will put another Connor on the case.
Connor Left Rooftop
During the fight against either Hank or Capt. Allen, if Connor wins, his weapon will be damaged and he'll miss his opportunity to kill the deviant leaders. This ending also unlocks if he chooses to flee from the inevitable fight, either by walking away or by jumping off the rooftop.
Battle for Detroit | All Connor at the Cyberlife Tower Endings
If Connor chooses to become a deviant in Chapter 30 Crossroads, his path in Battle for Detroit will lead him straight to CyberLife Tower. From here, he can either be shot and killed in dramatic fashion, or can survive long enough to awaken a group of dormant androids.
Connor Was Ambushed And Shot
Shortly after reaching the CyberLife headquarters, Connor will need to stop an elevator. If the elevator manages to reach floor -31, Connor will be ambushed, shot, and killed by a group of soldiers.
Connor Was Shot By Security
After reaching level -31, if Connor fails to neutralize the security guards who spot him, he'll be shot and killed.
This ending can also be unlocked if Connor fails to neutralize the guards waiting on floor -49, assuming he also failed to hack the security camera on level -31.
The Androids Remained Dormant
After initiating conversation with the android, Connor will be met by a new adversary in the form of a clone of himself, potentially one who's taken Hank as hostage. This ending will unlock if:
- Connor draws his gun on the new Connor, then gets shot and killed.
- Connor allows himself to be repeatedly shot while trying to get up as new Connor delivers a monologue.
- Connor runs out of time while Hank is held hostage, then gets killed by new Connor.
- Connor draws his gun while Hank is held hostage, then chooses not to mention Cole during the standoff. Hank will shoot the wrong Connor.
The Androids Woke Up
Considered the good ending to Connor's path, this ending will unlock if:
- Connor swaps consciousness with the new Connor, who then dies in the wounded Connor body. Connor will be alive to wake up the androids.
- Connor manages to complete the conversion of the android while ignoring the needs of Hank. Hank will die and Connor may still be killed, but the androids will eventually wake up.
- Connor succeeds in answering Hank's questions during the standoff. Hank will kill the clone, leaving Connor alive to wake up the androids.
Battle for Detroit | All Kara Captured Endings
There are a total of 15 different ways Kara's story can end if she was captured during the events of Crossroads. Note that most of these endings have variants that include Luther, Alice, or both characters depending on everything that's taken place in the story so far.
Kara Leaves Camp Without Alice
Following her capture, Kara is lead down a fairly linear path right until a soldier orders an android to move a body. If she says nothing, Kara continues down her path. If she volunteers, she'll have the chance to climb the truck and leave the camp without Alice, who will die in a recycling machine.
Kara Is Killed By The Drone
If Kara makes it to the enclosure, she'll find that the area is be monitored by a drone. If she gets caught moving, then chooses to move once commanded by the drone, she will get shot and wounded. If she gets wounded a second time, she will die.
Kara Is Dead
After joining the line and beginning the search for Alice, if Kara takes too long, Alice will panic and run toward her. If Kara does not intervene, Alice will get shot and killed. If Markus has not freed the camp, Kara will also be killed.
Kara Freed By Markus
After joining the line and beginning the search for Alice, if Kara takes too long, Alice will panic and run toward her. If Kara does not intervene and Alice gets shot, but the camp has been freed, Markus will come in and save Kara from being killed.
Kara Died In The Lanes
After Alice panics in the line, if Kara chooses to intervene, she will be shot and killed instead of Alice. If the camp has been freed, Markus will save Alice. If not, Alice will die in the recycling machine.
This ending can also be unlocked after reaching Alice: If Kara chooses not to move with the rest of the line, she'll be shot. If it's her second time being shot, she will die.
Alice & Kara Died In Recycling Machine
After reaching Alice, if Kara takes too long trying to escape the line, both her and Alice will be killed in the recycling machine.
Kara & Alice Survived
After reaching Alice, if Kara takes too long trying to escape the line but Markus liberates the androids, Kara and Alice will miraculously survive instead of being destroyed.
Kara & Alice Were Killed
After escaping the line by distracting the soldiers, Kara and Alice will have to get past some barbed wire. If they're too slow, soldiers will open fire, killing Kara and Alice.
Kara, Luther, And Alice Were Killed
After escaping the line by distracting the soldiers, Kara, Alice, and Luther will have to get past some barbed wire. If Kara is too slow, soldiers will open fire and kill all three of them.
Alice Escaped On Truck
While escaping the soldiers, if Kara has been previously wounded, she'll be shot and killed, and Alice will escape on a truck.
Alice & Luther Escaped By Trucks
While the group makes their escape from the soldiers, if Kara has been previously wounded, she'll be shot and killed, and both Alice and Luther will escape.
Kara, Luther, And Alice Were Killed
Eventually the trio makes it to a point where they have to decide between passing through barbed wire or fighting a soldier. If they choose to run, the soldier will open fire and kill all of them.
Kara & Alice Were Killed
Eventually Kara and Alice make it to a point where they have to decide between passing through barbed wire or fighting a soldier. If Kara chooses to run, the soldier will open fire and kill both Kara and Alice.
This ending can also be earned if Kara chooses to fight the soldier, then loses the quick-time event without Ralph or Luther around to help.
Kara & Alice Escaped On Truck
If Kara fights the soldier and wins, both her and Alice will escape on the truck.
Alternatively, if Kara loses the fight, either Ralph or Luther may intervene. Luther will intervene if he's still alive, and Ralph will intervene if Luther is dead, assuming he's alive and was met during the story.
Kara, Luther, & Alice Escaped On Truck
If Luther is still in the group after Kara wins the fight against the soldier, everyone will escape together.
Battle for Detroit | All Kara Leaving Detroit Endings
If Kara was not captured at the end of Crossroads, there's a chance she can be arrested by soldiers and put down the Captured path while walking the streets of Detroit at the start of the Leaving Detroit path. Otherwise, if she manages to reach the first security checkpoint, Kara, Alice, and potentially Luther all have a chance to escape with their lives.
Soldiers Executed Kara & Alice
If Kara and Alice make their way through to the security check and either choose to flee or hand over identification, the soldiers will shoot and kill them both.
Soldiers Executed Kara, Alice, & Luther
Assuming Kara chooses to proceed through the security checkpoint while Luther is still alive, both herself as well as Alice and Luther will be killed by the guards.
Everyone Was Arrested And Killed
Ouch. If Kara and friends make it to the border desk, then choose the Sacrifice No One prompt while Markus is taking the revolutionary path (that is, Markus isn't protesting outside), a guard will notice Markus attacking the camp and arrest and execute everyone.
The Group Cross The Border
After reaching the border desk, if Jerry or Luther sacrifice themselves to create a diversion, the group will manage to pass the border.
This ending can also be achieved if players choose the Sacrifice No One prompt while Markus leads a protest outside. The guard will let the entire group pass freely.
Kara & Alice Crossed The Border
After reaching the border desk, if either Jerry or Luther are sacrificed as the only remaining ally, only Kara and Alice will be alive to cross the border.
Alice Got To Canada With Luther
After reaching the border desk, if Kara chooses to sacrifice herself while Luther is still alive, both Alice and Luther will make it past the border into Canada.
Alice Got To Canada With Rose
If only Kara and Alice make it to the border desk alive and Kara chooses to sacrifice herself, Rose will take Alice past the border into Canada.
The Group Died
If Kara and allies reach the riverbank, eventually the Coast Guard will appear. If Kara chooses to surrender, the group will be killed.
Kara & Alice Died
Regardless of the approach, if Luther is around when the Coast Guard opens fire, Luther will die. If Kara fails to ditch enough weight from the boat before the timer runs out, the boat will sink, and if both she and Alice have been previously injured, they will die.
This ending can also be unlocked if only Alice sustains damage during the firefight, dies after the boat sinks, and Kara then chooses to end her own life.
Kara Died And Alice Survived
If Kara was damaged before the ship sinks, she will die in the frigid water, but Alice will survive and make it to Canada.
Alice Died And Kara Continued Alone
If Alice was wounded before the ship sinks, the cold water will cause her body to shut down. At that point, Kara must choose between death or living a life without Alice. This ending unlocks if she chooses to continue living.
Kara & Alice Survived
This simple ending has actually has two different variations:
- Reach Canada By Boat: After Luther gets shot, ditch his body as well as the supplies and the boat's engine. Kara still has to dive into the water and must not be wounded (from the Protect Alice prompt) in order to survive. With these conditions met, Kara and Alice will reach Canada with the boat.
- Reach Canada By Swimming: If neither Alice nor Kara were wounded in the firefight, both can survive the swim from the sinking boat to the Canadian shore.
Battle for Detroit | All Markus Demonstration Endings
If Markus chooses to lead a demonstration, he and the other androids will be placed right into the public eye. For the player, this presents one final opportunity to show Markus' true nature.
Markus Died After Betraying His People
After Perkins arrives, Markus has the opportunity to accept or refuse a deal. If he accepts, the barricade is dismantled, and Perkins shoots both Markus and North, provided she's still there.
Markus Died Protecting His People
After passing on the deal with Perkins and choosing to defend the barricade, Markus will have the chance to save some fleeing androids. This ending is earned if he fails and gets shot, assuming North isn't there to take the bullet for him.
Androids Won Freedom - For The Moment
Toward the end of the chapter, the soldiers will raise their weapons to fire on Markus and his allies. In this moment, if Markus chooses to sing or kiss North, the resulting public reaction will convince the president to order the soldiers to lower their weapons and set the androids free.
Markus Died With His People
When the soldiers raise their weapons, if Markus chooses either the Sacrifice or Do Nothing options, the soldiers will fire and kill Markus along with the other androids.
Androids Became Free In The Debris Of Detroit
This ending can only be unlocked if Markus took the detonator in Chapter 30 Crossroads. When the soldiers raise their weapons, choose the Observe Detonator option, then the Press option. An explosion will rock the city, the soldiers will retreat, and the androids will get away.
Battle for Detroit | All Markus Revolution Endings
Unsurprisingly, things can shake out a lot differently if Markus chooses to lead a violent rebellion. Many of these endings result in death, but if players picked up the detonator in Crossroads, they'll be able to unlock a few different endings.
Markus Died And The Revolution Failed
This ending can occur in several different conditions. In the first condition, Markus does not reach the machine gun after launching the attack before the androids have to retreat. He'll be badly wounded, after which one of three things will happen:
- If Simon is alive and North is not Markus' lover or has been killed, Simon will offer his heart.
- If North is alive and she and Markus are lovers, she will offer her heart. If Markus refuses, he will die.
- If Simon is dead and North is either dead or not lovers with Markus, Markus will die.
Assuming the attack is a success and Markus makes it as far as the assault at the recall center, this ending can be triggered if Markus fails to neutralize the soldiers that approach after the explosion. It's also possible to reach this ending from the recall center if players choose to control Markus and lose the fight against Connor.
Connor Stopped The Revolution
If Connor remained a machine in Crossroads, he will appear after Markus takes shelter in the recall center. If the player chooses to control Connor and wins the inevitable fight, Connor will succeed in his mission to stop the revolution, killing Markus in the process.
Assault Was Successful
If Markus manages to defeat Connor during the fight in the recall center, Markus will shoot the tanks, and the assault will be considered a success.
Markus And North Watched Detroit Burn
This ending can only be unlocked if Markus took the detonator in Chapter 30 Crossroads. If North is still alive after the initial attack fails and the androids are forced to flee, Markus and North will take shelter in a store. Soldiers will surround the building, and a choice will have to be made. Choose the Detonate Bomb option to unlock this ending.
Markus And North Died Leaving The Store
When the soldiers surround the store, if Markus chooses to surrender, Markus and North will be shot and killed as they leave.
Markus And North Committed Suicide
After the soldiers surround the store, choose the Suicide option to have both Markus and North end their own lives.
Connor Executed Markus
If Markus takes shelter in the store alone and Connor is still on his mission, the two will face off within the store. This ending will unlock if Markus chooses to shoot Connor.
Markus Died As Detroit Burns
Regardless of whether or not Markus chooses to shoot or spare Connor, he can also choose to detonate the bomb. If he does, he will die.
Connor Spared Markus
This ending can only be earned if Markus spares Connor and does not detonate the bomb.
Markus And Connor Killed Each Other
Failing to make a choice between shooting or sparing Connor results in the death of both Markus and Connor.
Markus Died Leaving Store
If Connor abandons his mission and becomes deviant, Markus will be surrounded by soldiers after taking refuge alone in the store. If he chooses to surrender, he will be killed.
Markus Committed Suicide
Once the store is surrounded by soldiers, Markus can choose the Suicide option to end his own life.
Markus Watched Detroit Burn
This option is only available if Markus took the Detonator in Chapter 30 Crossroads and sought refuge in the store alone. Choosing the Detonate Bomb option results in an explosion that rocks the city, and Markus escapes with his life.
