Live Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demos to debut at Gamescom 2019
Finally, we'll get to see how the game plays with a live character rather than simply pre-recorded segments.
Aching to see more of Cyberpunk 2077? Is a video or trailer simply not enough for you?
We understand, and that's why we're so excited that, instead of another video showcase for Gamescom 2019 of the upcoming CD Projekt RED game, the show will feature a live demonstration of the game.
You still won't be able to play the illustrious Cyberpunk 2077 yourself, because the world is cruel, but at the very least you'll get a brief taste of what it might be like to get behind the driver's seat for once.
The game isn't out until April 2020, and the fact that it's getting so late in the year without anyone having had a real hands-on with it is a little concerning, but that could just mean the team is making sure it's got all the extra polish it needs before it leaves developers' hands and gets out to the public.
Presentations during Gamescom 2019 will take place from August 21 through August 24, and they'll be accompanied by the previously-announced Cyberpunk 2077 cosplay content, which is set to happen on Friday, August 23. The contest will be giving away $2,000 to the winner of first place a well as Cyberpunk 2077 merchandise as well as a spot in the Cosplay Contest Grand Finale, which is comprised of a $30,000 prize pool.
Gamescom itself is running from August 20 through August 24 in Cologne, Germany, so if you're planning on attending, better be prepared to wait quite a while to see the game, if it doesn't immediately fill up. We can't wait to get our hands on it after all this time, so hopefully hands-on demos are coming up sooner rather than later.
