Visiting San Diego Comic-Con is like stepping into a different world, and in the case of the Epix Pennyworth Experience, a different time. To celebrate the release of Pennyworth, Epix put on an incredible Batman Pennyworth Experience in the Oxford Social Club and Shacknews was lucky enough to slip inside. Check out the complete walkthrough of the stylish event below!

For those that aren’t well-versed in the Batman lore or story, Pennyworth is the surname of Bruce Wayne’s humble manservant, Alfred. The series takes a look inside the life of Alfred Pennyworth well before he finally landed the job as the billionaire’s butler.

According to the Wikipedia page, the Pennyworth series follows Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS solider, as he starts up a security company and works for Batman’s dad, Thomas Wayne. The series is set in the 1960s, and that’s the exact theme Epix used for their Pennyworth Experience in San Diego.

The setup included classic ‘60s style Go-go Dancers, card tables for patrons to use, as well as actors to fully immerse everyone in the Pennyworth experience.

There was also a backroom with a rather unsettling theme. Patrons could be interrogated by a bobby, all while strapped to a chair with a head restriction and arm bands. Our very own Greg Burke was thrust into the chair and made to spill the beans about the location of certain individuals.

SDCC 2019 was an unforgettable event and the Epix Batman Pennyworth Experience was the icing on the cake. It’s certainly an excellent way to get viewers excited about an upcoming TV series. Pennyworth is schedule to release on Epix on July 28. For more videos from San Diego Comic-Con, head over to the Shacknews and GamerHubTV YouTube channels!
