Is Warframe crossplay? - Multiplayer FAQ
Learn more about Warframe's multiplayer options, including the answer to everyone's most gripping question; Is Warframe crossplay?
Warframe is one of a few games available on pretty much every platform that gamers make use of today, and that’s led many to wonder if Warframe is crossplay. In this guide, we’ll dive into the answer to that particular question, as well as discuss how multiplayer itself works in Warframe.
Is Warframe crossplay?
While Warframe is available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, the game does not support any kind of crossplay support. Despite the community’s wish for crossplay to become a major feature of the free-to-play, space ninja adventure, Digital Extremes has yet to establish any kind of official support for the feature.
Of course, it’s still something they are working on along the way, and it’s possible we might see crossplay support at some point down the line. For now, though, you’ll need to be on the same platform as the people that you want to party up with, which could be a bit of a hindrance for some.
Does Warframe have cross-save?
Another big feature that many members of the community have been asking for is cross-save, the ability to move your save file from one platform to the other. For those that wish to play with multiple groups of friends across two or more platforms, cross-save would be a vital feature in being able to move seamlessly across Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, or Nintendo Switch, as it would bring all of your account info over. Unfortunately, Warframe does not currently support cross-save. In fact, there isn’t even currently a way to move one account from a platform to another, so if you want to play on a different platform, you’ll need to start over completely.
Warframe multiplayer FAQ
So just exactly how does Warframe’s multiplayer work then? Well, that’s actually an easy question to answer. You can party up with randoms or friends in Warframe to take part in various missions and events. If you’d like, you can leave your party settings to public, which will load you into games with random players whenever you launch a new mission from the navigation terminal.
Likewise, you can turn your settings to friends only, which will keep anybody but your current friends list from joining your party. If you prefer to play without any help whatsoever, then you can also change to solo settings in the party settings. You can also dive into multiplayer PVP, which will automatically queue you and your team up with others to fill the required player amounts.
While Warframe doesn’t have crossplay, there is still plenty of content to keep you and your friends busy, even if you plan to play on multiple platforms. For more help, make sure you check out our Warframe guides hub and be sure to follow Shacknews on Twitter.
