Crytek's upcoming multiplayer bounty hunting game Hunt: Showdown finally has a confirmed release date, and it'll be hitting three major platforms later this year.

It's headed to Xbox One and PC on August 27, while the PlayStation 4 version will debut later in the fall. Crytek will be partnering with Koch Media to offer a retail physical version for stores worldwide as well.

The game first launched in early access on Steam back in February 2018 and on Xbox Game Preview in May 2019. Since then, it's received around 20 updates and patchers to help develop it further into the product it's become.

"Developing a game alongside such a passionate community has been so rewarding. It has taken us in new directions, and really inspired us to put everything we have into Hunt,” said Lead Hunt Producer Fatih Özbayram. “Now the time has come for the full release, and we couldn’t be more excited. We won’t forget the support this community has given us."

Anyone who purchased the game during its early access period will get an exclusive legendary weapon skin as a thank you from the developers.

“Joining forces with Crytek for this amazing multiplayer game is exciting for everybody in the Koch Media family,” said Koch Media’s Head of Marketing, Stephan Schmidt. “The proven track record of the team in the FPS genre and the unique approach to multiplayer gaming gives us confidence that Hunt not only fits perfectly in our broad line up, but also serves a strong need in the market for fresh ideas. The close cooperation of the team with the community ever since the first release fuel the motivation of our global Koch Media teams, and we will support this title with all our experience in the retail market.”

Previously, Chris Jarrard took Hunt: Showdown for a spin, and came away with mostly positive impressions. Here's what he thought of the game:

"It should also be mentioned that the game looks very good, which should come as no surprise to those who have enjoyed past Crytek games. The studio was responsible for Crysis, the game that pushed graphics so far forward, it tooks competitors years to catch up. Running on an updated version of the CryEngine, Hunt: Showdown has nearly every graphical bell and whistle you can think of, all working in service of delivering an unsettling experience in the murky Louisiana swamps. It will require a beefy PC to make the most of its breathtaking visuals, but PC gaming veterans understand that this is par for the course.

As the game works towards a final release, it has received new maps, hunters, gear, and monsters. As expected, the game gets regular balance adjustments and bug fixes as a part of the early access process. While Hunt: Showdown is still technically in the oven, the team at Crytek have already delivered a horrifying shooter experience that draws you back in for more. For this reason, it takes the top spots as the Shacknews Best Early Access Game of 2018."
