Super Mario Maker 2 is here and we’re all busy completing the Story Mode and creating courses. However, server maintenance is always going to be an issue with online games. Super Mario Maker 2 is no different, and it’s bound to go down from time to time as Nintendo tinkers with the server. At the moment, it appears as if players are encountering a new error code, 2306-0811.

According to the official Nintendo support website, the Super Mario Maker 2 server Error Code 2306-0811 is displayed whenever the service you are attempting to connect to is undergoing server maintenance.

For a lot of players, whenever an error code appears, it typically means a problem with their internet or unit. Thankfully, in the case of this particular error code, the problem (if you can call it a problem), lies with Nintendo. Basically, whenever the Super Mario Maker 2 servers go down for maintenance, you can expect to be greeted with this code, or perhaps one similar.

However, in some extraneous circumstances, Super Mario Maker 2 may not be undergoing maintenance and you could be having a problem connecting. The first port of call will be to check the aforementioned Nintendo support page to see if there are in fact any scheduled maintenance windows. If no such maintenance period exists, then it’s likely an issue lies at your end.

If you saw no server warning when playing and the Nintendo support page shows no maintenance time, then there are a few things you can to do fix this problem:

• Power cycle your Nintendo Switch by shutting it down and booting it back up
• Power cycle your modem, router, and/or switch
• Refresh, reset, or manually enter a new DNS through your router

The last of these options is going to be the most complicated and should likely be attempted with the help of your internet service provider.

Thankfully, whenever you see the 2306-0811 error code when playing Super Mario Maker 2, chances are it’s just some scheduled server maintenance. All you need to do now is simply wait for the maintenance to complete, and then you can get back to making and playing courses!
