When you first kick off your adventure in Cadence of Hyrule, you’re going to find yourself with a choice. Both Zelda and Link are asleep in front of you, and you can only choose to wake up one of them. But which character should you pick, Link or Zelda? In this guide we’ll go over the choice and how it affects the rest of your adventure in Cadence of Hyrule.

Should you pick Link or Zelda in Cadence of Hyrule?

Like many choices in video games, choosing whether to wake up Link or Zelda can be a bit overwhelming when you are first approached with the idea. Fortunately, there’s no reason to fret or stress over it too much. Choosing Link or Zelda doesn’t drastically change the story; however, it will change up a few of the moves that you have available. For example, Link carries a shield that you can use to deflect enemy attacks. Zelda also has a shield, though it is a power that she must cast to protect herself. Overall, though, the story plays out pretty much the same, save for a few dialogue bits here and there.

Should you pick Link or Zelda in Cadence of Hyrule?
You'll have to choose either Link or Zelda (left and right) before you can truly begin your adventure in Cadence of Hyrule.

The really only important reason to choose one or the other is that you’ll spend the rest of your adventure playing as that character. Because of this, you’re going to want to choose whichever character you’re happy to play through the game the first time as. As I mentioned above, nothing drastic changes throughout the story, it’s more of a player preference than anything. If you want to play through as both characters, make sure you know how long it takes to beat Cadence of Hyrule, so that you can plan ahead and get through the game quickly.
