Watch Dogs Legion gameplay demoed at Ubisoft E3 2019 conference
Ubisoft's E3 2019 conference brought our first look at gameplay from Watch Dogs Legion, the third chapter in the Watch Dogs series.
We’ve seen an immense number of leaks for Ubisoft’s E3 lineup over the past couple of weeks, and this year the company decided to get ahead of the curb and lead with a gameplay reveal for Watch Dogs Legion, the third chapter in the Watch Dogs series.
This was the first time we’d seen Watch Dogs Legion gameplay in action, as the demo took us through the new permadeath feature, showing off how players will be their team of hackers and rebels to take down an AI system that has been used to take control of London. According to the leaks we'd seen already, and the official gameplay demo, it looks like players can recruit any NPC that they come across in London, including grandmothers and grandfathers.
In the gameplay walkthrough that Ubisoft provided, we were able to get a solid look at some of the driving, combat, and various mechanics that will play a large part in Watch Dogs: Legion. As the name would suggest, players can literally recruit any person that they come across in the game, allowing them to endlessly switch between different characters, all of which will have their own history, stories, and other motivations. As a member of DedSec, it will be important for players to constantly learn more about the people they encounter and work to build up the resistance and bring down the AI system that threatens the city of London. The upcoming sequel is planned for a March 2020 release.
Our own, Blake Morse, had a chance to go hands-on with Watch Dogs: Legion at E3 2019, where he stated, “ Watch Dogs: Legion definitely left a good impression on me and I am totally going to make an unstoppable force of killer hacker golden girls when it comes out.”
