Star Wars Collector’s Editions
It’s been a Star Wars-heavy week, what with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order receiving a lot of on-screen attention. At EA Play, we got to see world’s first gameplay and at the Xbox press conference, were treated to even more goodness. And now, Limited Run is bringing old-school gamers a blast from the past.
Thanks to the collaboration between Limited Run and Lucasfilm Games, players can look forward to playing 13 of these iconic Star Wars titles from the past few decades. These titles will be released over the course of several days and weeks, and only in limited amounts. The first batch is due on Friday, June 28 at 10AM and 6PM EDT, so if you want one, make sure you set an alarm. There are over a dozen titles being re-released as Collector’s Editions:
- Star Wars
- The Empire Strikes Back
- Star Wars X Wing
- Star Wars Rebel Assault I + II
- Star Wars Tie Fighter
- Star Wars Dark Forces
- Star Wars Shadows of the Empire
- Star Wars Jedi Knight Dark Forces II
- Star Wars Episode 1 Racer
- Star wars Bounty Hunter
- Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
- Star Wars Racer Revenge
- Star wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
There are more Star Wars games there than you will likely know what to do with. These games span multiple generations of consoles and even different systems entirely. It’s going to be pretty wild playing Shadows of the Empire and many of these other titles again.
While there are currently no platform announcements, each game will be available individually, and it seems as if PlayStation 4 is definitely an option. In fact, the first games available for purchase will be Star Wars: Bounty Hunter on PS4 and Star Wars on, apparently, the NES and GameBoy. These will be available in two batches and must be purchased through the Limited Run website. You can also take a look at the 2019 video game release date schedule so you don't miss out on a game's release!
