Ghostwire Tokyo revealed at the E3 2019 Bethesda Showcase
Tango Softworks is preparing their follow up to Evil Within 2 with an all-new action adventure horror game.
Tango Softworks made their grand return to E3 during the 2019 Bethesda Showcase to show off their new game Ghostwire Tokyo. It will be an action adventure horror hybrid set in a ghost-filled Japan. Ghostwire Tokyo is the company’s first game since the 2018 release of The Evil Within 2.
The teaser trailer for the game opens in a Tokyo subway station and shows people disappearing into thin air, leaving their clothes behind. A series of Blade Runner-esque city scenes were shown after. This was followed by a host of mysterious scenes and a character holding a bow asking players to not fear the unknown, but instead attack it.
No details were shown about how gameplay would work or even a basic structure of how the game is assembled. It would be a safe bet to assume it carries on a good amount of the DNA from the studio's previous Bethesda projects The Evil Within and The Evil Within 2. Game director Shinji Mikami is best known for his work at Capcom on the Resident Evil series. We will keep you updated on new details on Ghostwire: Tokyo as they emerge. For now, here is the game's official synopsis:
After strange disappearances hit Tokyo’s population, it’s up to you to uncover the source and purge the city of a strange, new evil. Armed with your own mysterious spectral abilities, you will face down the occult, unravel conspiracy theories and experience urban legends like never before.
