Microsoft had loads of new games to announce at its E3 2019 Xbox briefing, but it saved the best for last. Before closing out the show, the team unveiled an all-new trailer for Halo Infinite.

Suffice to say, the new trailer rocked fans' socks right off. Halo Infinite is absolutely the best the series has ever looked, and as it turns out, there may be a very good reason for that — Phil Spencer announced that the game would be a launch title for the next-gen Xbox Project Scarlett console when it releases during the holiday season of 2020. Bolstered by the technology of a console that is reportedly four times as powerful as the Xbox One X, Halo Infinite is shaping up to be a graphical tour-de-force.

It's been quite a long time since gamers were given any proper information about the future of the Halo series. Halo Infinite was only first teased at E3 2018, and since then, very few details have come to surface. Fortunately, that's now all changed. The trailer shows a UNSC soldier stumbling upon Master Chief, who seems to have been stuck in some sort of stasis. A surge of electricity brings him back ground, but there was no time to relax, as enemy vessels descend upon the ship. Ever the stoic warrior, our armor-clad refuses to walk way, opting instead to head straight toward the opposition.
