Today, EA opened up their first day of EA Play and revealed brand new gameplay showcasing Respawn’s new 3rd person action adventure, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. They showed some pre-recorded gameplay during the live stream and an exclusive theater demo, showcasing Cal slicing away with his blue lightsaber, and using his force pull/push abilities. We also saw some key characters that interact with Cal, such as rebel extremist Saw Gerrera, who you may recognize from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The Star Wars universe has a plethora of fan favorite characters from different film and television series. Which begs the question, could Mace Windu be in the game? What we know is that when Mace Windu faced off against Emperor Palpatine, he was winning, until whiny cry baby Anakin Skywalker sliced his arm off. He was then zapped by force lighting and jettisoned out of a window. However, we never get a body, nor a confirmed death. It’s reasonable to believe that he survived the force lighting and the fall. After all, he was one of the best swordsmen and Jedi in the order. Could he make an appearance in Fallen Order? We think it would be great if he did. Seeing Sam Jackson reprise the role again would certainly be met with a huge positive reception.
Of course, this could just be wishful thinking. When Respawn’s Brandon Kelch was asked if he would make an appearance he responded with “...Sounds like a fan theory.” At this early point in the games development cycle they’re sure to keep their lips sealed on any and all famous or infamous characters set to make a cameo or have a core appearance. At this point it’s only a fans dream and speculation.
