In a special announcement during the Sims 4 segment of EA Play, it was revealed that The Sims 4 is partnering with the It Gets Better Project. This special partnership will see new pride items and It Gets Better items added to the game to celebrate all things LGBTQ+.

The announcement was made by Joey Graceffa, a producer and content creator on YouTube and an avid fan of all things Sims. Graceffa revealed that all of The Sims products will be receiving a variety of pride products. While no specific items were mentioned, Joey was able to tell us that these items would include pride clothing. There are also gender-neutral bathrooms in-game for gender-neutral Sims to use.

This is a fantastic way for some players to safely explore their identity. In a way, The Sims has always allowed players to express themselves, but now there are even more options for those who were (and often still are) marginalized. This is an excellent way to ensure that more and more players get to experience their favorite game in a way that makes them feel like themselves.

The Sims 4 will be first up on the ranks of Sims titles receiving these special pride items. You can expect to start showing off your pride in The Sims 4 on June 18, with the content hitting The Sims Mobile and Sims FreePlay at a later date.

Be sure to head over to the It Gets Better Project website to hear more about the incredible work this non-profit does for those who are most vulnerable in our community.

This wasn’t the only news out of EA Play, especially not for The Sims 4. It was also confirmed that The Sims 4 would be receiving a new expansion pack called Island Living. This expansion will let players live out their ultimate island life fantasies. Expect to swim with dolphins, keep the beach and island alive with conservation programs, and even live dangerously near an active volcano!
