Destroy All Humans remake gets 2020 release date

Destroy All Humans is set to make its triumphant return in 2020 with a remake of the hilarious cult hit.

Remember Destroy All Humans? When it debuted, it was a hilarious adventure that had you taking on the form of an alien named Crypto. It had several sequels before mysteriously falling off the map in the 2000s. But now it's back in a big way, with a remake from THQ Nordic and Black Forest Games set for 2020.

The game, which is making its way to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC next year, is going to reboot the 20005 title while still ensuring it's injected with plenty of humor. You'll get to take on the 1950s in a hilarious alien invasion story, all the while posing as humans while you work to infiltrate society and, well, destroy them all. Crypto has plenty of methods at his disposal to do this, too.

One method to terrorize humans in particular is the Anal Probe Gun, which does exactly what it sounds like. And it sounds hilarious. You can also use psychokinesis to take enemies and send them flying through the air, or pelt them with objects you think are funny. This version of the game will also include the Lost Mission of Area 42, which should bring plenty of laughs.

Unfortunately, we don't know much else about what the remake will bring, other than it's probably going to be pretty metal. The trailer features Rammstein, for crying out loud. Crypto is singing along to the song's German lyrics as he unleashes havoc on the unsuspecting humans, and it's...kind of awesome? I never thought I'd say this, but I actually like how silly this trailer is, despite the slightly cringe idea to include that type of music. It looks fun!

Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates on all things Rammstein – er, I mean Destroy All Humans. That song was pretty rockin' though, huh?
