Pokemon Sword and Shield Legendaries are Zacian and Zamazenta
The newly-announced Legendary Pokemon for Pokemon Sword and Shield are the majestic Zacian and Zamazenta.
During today's Pokemon Sword and Shield-themed Pokemon Direct, new details were shared on the Legendary Pokemon we'll see in the two games, and they're just as majestic as you might have imagined.
The Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta are "shrouded in mystery" and even those who live in the Galar region don't know much about them. Zacian, which appears to be carrying a sword in its mouth, has "graceful movements" that captivate opponents. Its shining blade is able to cut through anything. Conversely, the shield Pokemon Zamazenta has a shield covering its body. With the shield, Zamazenta can deflect any attack and "overwhelm" any opponents that dare to face it.
These are the first real looks we've had at any sort of Legendary Pokemon for Pokemon Sword and Shield, and as such they'll likely be heavily featured on the box art when the games debut this November 15 as Nintendo Switch exclusives.
As far as what type of attacks or abilities they'll possess, that's anyone's guess right now. It looks like we'll have to wait and see for additional information to come down the pipeline ahead of this fall. You can bet they'll remain quite mysterious as time wears on, because that's the Pokemon way, after all.
