Mario Tennis Aces adds playable Fire Piranha Plant in June
Mario Tennis Aces fans will get to play as the Fire Piranha Plant when it debuts in-game this June.
Looking to expand your roster in Mario Tennis Aces? There's a new character coming down the line that you'll soon be able to overwhelm the competition with.
The Fire Piranha Plant is soon coming to the tennis game in June, and there's a new trailer that shows off his flaming technique. The plant holds a racquet in its mouth and slams back return shots like nobody's business. This marks the second playable Piranha Plant to be added into the game post-release behind Petey Piranha, and it looks like this one is going to be a great boost for players.
To unlock Fire Piranha Plant, all you have to do is take part in the June Mario Tennis Aces tournament. Otherwise, it'll be available to unlock in July.
Previously, I reviewed Mario Tennis Aces and awarded it a 9 out of 10. Here are my thoughts on the game:
"Mario Tennis Aces has provided me with some of the most fun I've had in a Mario game in quite some time. Through it all, even the most frustrating parts of it, I was compelled to keep playing, no matter what. It's addictive, just like the other iterations that came before it, in the best way," I wrote.
"Should you pick up Mario Tennis Aces? If the answer wasn't immediately obvious already, that's a resounding yes. It's the best the series has seen in years, and that's saying something for this tennis fan. If you're looking for one of the best sports games the Switch has to offer, look no further. You've found it."
If you still haven't given the game a try, it's definitely a good time to go ahead and pick it up – especially with E3 2019 around the corner, and travel being a must for some.
