It's that time of year again. The flowers are in bloom, birds are chirping in the air, and Shacknews is hosting its third annual game jam! For Shacknews Jam: The Third several loyal Shacknews Chatty forum members have put their game designing chops to the test for a chance at winning some very real prize money. This year's theme is "___ with guns" and we've got six entries for folks to peruse and vote on. This year's entries include an homage to the Atari E.T. game with a gun, an FPS Pac-Man homage with a gun, a choose your own adventure with a gun, a zombiepocalypse with guns, and several other games that bend genres to include guns.

Overall, there's a cash prize pool of $600 with two games taking home $100 each for best standalone and best mod respectively. Competitors also have a chance at winning $50 prizes in other "best of" categories. If you want to check out the games for yourselves and give them a vote we encourage to head over to the game jam's itch.io page and check them all out. And be sure to vote for your favorite afterward so they have a shot at winning one of the cash prizes. Voting will be open for Shacknews Jam: The Third until May 20 and all the winners should be announced shortly after that.

Shacknews Jam: The Third is put on and funded entirely by members of the Shacknews Chatty. A big shoutout to long-time Chatty member RomSteady for putting this together and to all of the entrants for the hard work and effort they put into making these games. You’ve got until May 20 to vote for your favorite games and you can keep up with the conversation on the Shacknews Chatty forums.

I think my favorite so far is going on a laser disintegration spree with G.T., only to get captured by an agent, but this agent didn't take me away, instead he held me in a warm embrace until I stopped laughing and ended the game.

Alright, played them all. Good humor all around. A few of them I couldn't get very far in, broken or otherwise. Still, some creative fun stuff!
