Nintendo Switch Online nears 10 million users
Nintendo Switch Online has amassed quite the following ever since it debuted.
Nintendo Switch Online has seen a lot of people using it since it first debuted in late 2018,a and it was the subject of Nintendo's latest chat about some of its business decisions, which also noted how many people have been playing Tetris 99.
"Half a year has passed since Nintendo Switch Online went live last September," said Shuntaro Furukawa during the Financial Results Briefing for Fiscal Year Ended March 2019 conference call. "Global memberships now exceed 9.8 million accounts, excluding free trial memberships."
Back in February, the Nintendo Switch Online service had surpassed 8 million users, meaning it's really been growing quickly.
"In last September, we launched Nintendo Switch Online, a paid service that expands the online functionality of Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Switch Online has had a good start, with the number of subscribers surpassing 8 million accounts not including free trials. In keeping with our goal of providing Nintendo Switch owners with “More Games. More Features. More Fun,” we are working on continuing to expand the service offerings."
"Note: Includes accounts within Family Membership"
So it looks like folks are really taking to this Nintendo Switch Online thing, and we can't blame them. There's a lot of awesome stuff you get with it as a member, including the rotating selection of NES games, Tetris 99, and of course the ability to play games online if you like doing that sort of thing.
This begs the question, of course, do you have the service? If not, you can try it out for free along with a seven-day demo of Mario Tennis Aces, which is available to download now.
