How to open flaming chests in the Mortal Kombat 11 Krypt

There are various types of chest and currencies available for players to find and make use of in Mortal Kombat 11’s Krypt mode. As you explore the Krypt, you’re bound to come across some of the different chests, including some flaming chests. Notable by the flames that they have coming off of them, these chests can only be unlocked after you have quenched the fire. This guide will tell you everything you need to know to open flaming chests in the Mortal Kombat 11 Krypt.

How to open fire chests in Mortal Kombat 11

Before you can unlock the fire chests in Mortal Kombat 11, you’re going to need to first find Scorpion’s Spear. If you haven’t yet unlocked Scorpion’s Spear, then make sure you head over to our key Krypt items guide for help getting your hands on it.

When you have the spear, make your way through the Krypt until you come across one of the flaming chests. After finding the chest, you’ll need to quench the flames that cover it. This can be done by looking around for a hanging fire pot lantern. These items can usually be found pretty close to the chest itself, though it could be anywhere in the area. All you need to do is look for one of these burning lanterns and hit it with Scorpion’s Spear. Doing this will put the fire pot out, also quenching the flames on the chest at the same time.

With the flames put out, return to the chest. You’re going to need Hearts to open these chests. Hearts are another currency that players can collect as they explore the Krypt. Like Koins, players will want to try to collect as much of this currency as they can, as this will allow them to open up more chests as they come across them.
