Spielberg announces Amazing Stories at Apple Special Event
Speilberg is reviving Amazing Stories as part of the new Apple TV+ service, revealed during the Apple Special Event.
Various things have been whispered around the web regarding today's special event livestream from Apple and we've finally got some answers. The event started out with major updates for Apple News, Pay, Apple TV, and the app store. After all of this, the team introduced Apple TV+ and legendary filmmaker Steven Speilberg took the stage.
The team showed off a montage of creators that are working on this new platform, including Steven Speilberg, Reese Witherspoon, Octavia Spencer, and more. After the montage, Spielberg stepped on stage and revealed that he will be spearheading the Apple TV+ revival of Amazing Stories.
What followed this review was a series of announcements for new projects that will be only available on Apple TV+. Jennifer Anniston and Reese Witherspoon will be part of a TV series called The Morning Show that that will also feature Steve Carell. Jason Mamoa and Alfre Woodard took the stage to spotlight a sci-fi drama called See, written by Steven Knight.
Kumail Nanjiani then stepped forward to announce Little America, a show that will tell stories focused on the immigrant dream.
After showing another montage that included actual footage from these upcoming shows, the Apple crew set the stage for one more announcement. Then, Oprah Winfrey took the stage to announce that she's working on two documentaries with Apple. She's also working on a new book club that Apple users will be able to participate in via a livestream across all devices.

If they take the stories a bit more into adult-ish area rather than keeping things all family friendly (but still keeping it to be watchable by a whole family), it fits into this near revival of anthology shows like Black Mirror and the Twilight Zone. (neither which are family friendly).
The original Amazing Stories had the idea that the story could go scary-bad but it never did.
