Asteri Holdings acquires Prima Games' digital assets
As a result of the acquisition, Greenlit Content will be partnering with Asteri Holdings on the Prima Games website.
In an effort to expand its consumer testing network, a major analytics platform is acquiring a well-known name in the gaming industry. Asteri Holdings, in preparation for GDC 2019, announced the acquisition of the digital assets of Prima Games from DK Publishers.
Prima Games was founded in 1990 and was shut down in November 2018 after a 28-year run. With this acquisition, Asteri will be partnering with Greenlit Content on the Prima Games website, which will be a portal to gaming news and guide content. The site will also have a new feature that reflects Asteri Holdings' focus on analytics.
“As a long-time gamer and game-maker, the Prima acquisition is a particularly sweet one for me; my guides from all the Lord of the Rings games over many years are proudly displayed on my coffee table today!” said Steve Gray, Founder and CEO, Asteri Holdings. “On its face, the Prima site will continue to function as a gaming portal serving up gaming news and player tips for fans of all ages. Beginning today, as part of the Asteri consumer testing network, Prima Games will also serve as a hub for game creators to gather critical player feedback on projects in development. It’s truly a perfect fit for the Asteri network.”
Prima Games has a long and deep history in gaming and it makes perfect sense for Asteri Holdings to grab up the brand to expand its coverage of various entertainment mediums. The company was founded in 2017, features a growing network of game, entertainment, sports, news, and kid's websites, and has begun acquiring additional sites recently.
Asteri Holdings will be showing its analytics platform at GDC 2019 at booth N3306 for those attending. The team is showing off demos for new Asteri projects, Otrio and Gobsmax. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
