Plague Inc. adds anti-vaxxers to game after successful petition
Anti-vaxxers are coming to Plague Inc. after one fan started a successful petition.
Anti-vaxxers are coming to the real-time strategy title Plague Inc., as developer Ndemic Creations took to Twitter to announce.
“ICYMI: Alright, alright! You spoke, we listened. Neurie’s very happy to hear that we’re going to start figuring out anti-vaxxers soon. He’s dying to try and get inside their heads,” the tweet read. Plague Inc. fans should be happy as well.
The move comes in response to a Plague, Inc. petition on Change.org by Eduard Gabriel, who requested the change because, "Anti-vaxxers are stupid," as Gabriel said simply in his petition.
Ndemic Creations saw the petition and then agreed to add a new special Plague Inc. scenario featuring anti-vaxxers if enough signatures were reached. At the time of this article, 22,005 people have signed the petition, which is aiming for a goal of 25,000. The number continues to rise every few seconds, so it's well on its way to reaching its goal.
Ok, fine! :P If this petition gets to 10k, will add a specific new anti-vaxxer scenario to Plague Inc. https://t.co/DJjmRFpOMa

Plague Inc. first hit mobile devices in 2012, and has enjoyed success on PC and consoles since then. The game finds players working to end the human race by curating a deadly disease that effectively rids the world of humanity. They have to help it keep spreading before there's a cure discovered. Obviously, anti-vaxxers would be a boon for a disease spreading, so it actually makes sense from a narrative standpoint...if you think about it.
There's not been any information about when or how the anti-vaxxers will be added, only that Ndemic Creations will be doing so. If you're a Plague Inc. fan, it's well worth looking out for, because this should be a funny implementation, to say the least. It's a little hard to believe that it's happening thanks to such a silly petition, but then perhaps Ndemic simply wants to please its fans in a rather unorthodox way. This is certainly one of those, that's for sure.
