Dragon Quest Builders 2 Switch release date announced

The sandbox RPG sequel to the Dragon Quest spin off will arrive on Nintendo Switch this July.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 was initially released late last year on PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan only. During today’s Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that the game will arrive on North American shores for the Switch on July 12, 2019.

Square Enix produced the Dragon Quest Builders series as a spin off of its popular Dragon Quest games. It is a sandbox action role-playing game that tasks the player with rebuilding the world after it is destroyed during the final battle from the original Dragon Quest.

The new version of the game offers more of the same gameplay seen in the original release and cooperative play for up to four people. Square Enix also enlisted help from the folks at Koei Tecmo to help with development.

Nintendo Switch fans have been waiting for this sequel ever since the first game released back in early 2018. The game will also arrive on the same for the PS4. For more news out of today’s Nintendo Direct, keep it tuned to Shacknews.
