Aftercharge releases on Xbox, Switch, and PC next January
The asymmetrical shooter from Chainsawesome games will be releasing for the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this coming January.
We here at Shacknews have been closely following the development of Aftercharge, the three-versus-three asymmetrical shooter from the crew at Chainsawesome Games. It's a shooter with a twist, putting players onto a team of either invisible robots or invincible humans, and now we finally know when the game will be available.
As revealed following a trailer featured within the Kinda Funny Games Showcase, Aftercharge will release on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on January 10, 2019. That's right, in just slightly over a month, we'll finally be able to see how the invisible vs. invincible dynamic holds up out in the wild. It's definitely an interesting mechanic, which is why Shacknews took the chance to speak with Chainsawesome co-founder Jean Simon Otis at this year's GDC 2018 presentation.
Beyond the game's unusual approach to team balance, Aftercharge action pushes players to either protect or destroy six extractors placed at different locations across the arena. Team invincible are the Enforcers, who are tasked with protecting the extractors through the use of various tools and weapons. Team invisible is comprised of robots that have to rely solely on stealth and trickery to evade the Enforcers and destroy the objectives.
We won't have to wait long until we can get a proper taste for Chainsawesome Game's latest release. Be on the lookout for Aftercharge on Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One on January 10. More information about the game can be found over on the official Aftercharge website or on the Aftercharge Steam product page.
