How to catch Mew in Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Eevee
There's only one surefire way to get your very own Mew in Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Eevee right now, and it does involve purchasing a separate peripheral. The only way you can add your very own Mew to your Pokemon collection is buy picking up one of the Poke Ball Plus peripherals that either come packaged with copies of Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Eevee.
If you already have a Poke Ball Plus, you won't automatically have your Mew. You'll need to first connect to the internet while playing Pokemon: Let's Go. Then, go into the game's Main Menu and select the "Communicate" option. Select "Mystery Gift" after that. Next, you'll be offered a gift from your connected Poke Ball Plus. Select the option, confirm, and you'll receive your very own Mew. That's all there is to it!
If you don't have your own Poke Ball Plus, you can pick one up via any retailer that sells video games. They should be fairly ubiquitous, but if not you can always purchase via online storefronts like Amazon.
Of course, this may very well be a limited-time offer. If you want to make sure you get your very own Mew, you may want to go ahead and snag your Poke Ball Plus sooner rather than later. The official Pokemon website has verbiage that explicitly states “the ability to claim your gift of Mew may be discontinued at some point after the initial sales period of the Poké Ball Plus." So if you want to have a complete Pokedex in the future, you may need to invest now to ensure you've got the last Pokemon you need on your list.
