Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes killed in Fortnite by fan wearing his NFL jersey
The new deal between the NFL and Epic Games ended up with a QB being killed by...himself.
Patrick Mahomes II, the NFL quarterback for the KansasCity Chiefs, got a unique slice of humble pie this week. Mahomes II seems to play Fortnite in his free time while not decimating opposing defense on the field, but a fan ended up killing him in the battle royale mode while wearing the QB's jersey. Understandably, he was conflicted:
Yesterday i played fortnite for the first time in a while and someone killed me with my jersey on.. don’t know how i feel about it...

Epic Games teamed up with the NFL for an outfit that can change into any of the 32 licensed teams and an additional Fortnite-themed llama team. There have been quite a few hijinks as a result of this, like a dog-equipped Michael Vick picture, but this particular situation has the fortunate side-effect of reminding the world how popular Fortnite is.
Epic Games' PvE offering hasn't enjoyed the same amount of hype as the battle royale, but the team is gearing up to make Fortnite Save the World as accessible and engaging as possible before it goes free-to-play in 2019. Read up on all the Save the World updates that are coming and stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
