The Waylanders RPG hits Kickstarter target, announces new stretch goals
One of the four new goals has already been unlocked and time is running out for the rest, which add new companions to The Waylanders.
The time-traveling RPG has been crowdfunded. Game studio Gato Salvaje launched the Kickstarter for The Waylanders in October and, while it was a slow burn, the game has been fully funded. The team was asking for $150,000 and it is at $160,287 at the time this post is being written. The team has celebrated the funding by revealing a handful of new stretch goals, as well.

More info on #Kickstarter:
As you can see in the tweet above, the new stretch goals for The Waylanders include a new location and three new companions. With the current funding, the location is unlocked and there are only 30 hours left to secure the companions. Without any of the stretch goals included, the team is teasing that The Waylanders will feature over 40 hours of gameplay, two different time periods that players impact, eight companions, four reincarnations, six basic classes with 30 advanced classes, 12 formation styles, and four races all in the base game.
If you haven't been following the game's crowdfunding campaign, you may be surprised to learn that the recent Telltale Games news is tied into it. When the campaign for The Waylanders kicked off, it was revealed that one of the former Telltale employees was a stretch goal. The team went ahead and brought the narrative designer, Emily Grace Buck, onto the project before the goal was reached and before the game was fully funded.
The Waylanders is only planned for PC at this time and the estimated release window is April 2020. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
