Astroneer delays release date to February 2019
The interplanetary survival sandbox Astroneer will miss the 2018 release window.
System Era Softworks' Astroneer has officially been dated for release on Xbox One and Windows 10 on February 6, 2019.
Previously, Astroneer's Joe Tirado mentioned to Shacknews that the team was aiming for a December 2018 release as recently as PAX West. Now it appears that date has indeed shifted for next year. The game has been in Early Access since December 2016, so hopefully this is the official release date and there isn't any more cause to wait.
The game will feature a swath of new content when it lands, including a new exploration-focused adventure that includes seven new planets teeming with dangerous flora, terrain, and a wide variety of mysterious structures to explore along with new narrative elements. The game's dedicated servers will allow adventurers to build bases in an asynchronous manner through Xbox One and PC cross-play as well.
Currently, you can purchase Astoneer via Steam Early Access and Xbox One Game Preview for $19.99, but it will be going up in price to $29.99 on November 16, 2018. With the price increase comes a new "Retro" suit exclusively for Early Access supporters.

I fired it back up recently and oh man it's such a nice game to just relax and dig caves and try not to die.
I don't even care about building a rover or spaceship or anything, I just like wandering through the caves and then getting killed by a gas cloud randomly.
I don't even save the game when I'm done, I just alt+f4, and launch a new astroneer every time I load the game up.
