Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's Glen McIntosh talks VR, tech, & film
Modern visual effects have come a really long way since the first Jurassic movie and one of the creators behind the recent films chatted with us about the tech that powers them.
The Jurassic films, like the upcoming Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, are incredible examples of modern computer graphics and visual effects, so it makes perfect sense to listen up when one of the minds behind the films chats about film effects in relation to gaming.
Animation Director Glen McIntosh took a moment out of his day to give us his take on pieces of technology, like Unreal Engine 4, and how they power video game experiences these days. He also touches on how these tools help virtual reality experiences reach their incredible level of immersion, taking fans into worlds they only dreamed of exploring.
We also got a chance to speak with Glen McIntosh strictly on the subject of visual effects. He took a moment to give us a deep dive into the effect team's approach to bringing dinosaurs to life in the most realistic way possible, the process needed to create entirely unique "Frankenstein" dinosaur creations in the most recent Jurassic films, and the evolution of computer graphics. A lot has improved as modern visual effects evolve, and McIntosh gives us interesting takes on the differences between creating for the different Jurassic films.
