Minit adds speedrun setting and kicks off first community event

The fast-paced indie game Minit (currently on sale for 25% off) has added a new speedrun setting today. The Minit Speedrun Community Event has also been announced and will run from October 4 through November 5 featuring two categories:

Any % / Normal Mode: The fastest possible run on normal mode with no requirements for completion percentage. Current world record 6:56.83.

110% / Fewest Runs: The fewest lives to get to 110% completion on normal mode. Current world record is 34 runs

The winner of each run will receive a custom Minit Speedrun World Champion shirt, a Minit plush, and a Devolver Digital game pack. Details and rules can we found at the official Minit Speedrun Challenge website. It is great to see Minit embrace their speedrun community with the addition of new settings and The Minit Speedrun Community Event. Maybe we will even see Minit appear in a Shacknews Electronic Sports competition next year.

Asif Khan

Asif Khan is the CEO, EIC, and majority shareholder of Shacknews. He began his career in video game journalism as a freelancer in 2001 for Tendobox.com. Asif is a CPA and was formerly an investment adviser representative. After much success in his own personal investments, he retired from his day job in financial services and is currently focused on new private investments. His favorite PC game of all time is Duke Nukem 3D, and he is an unapologetic fan of most things Nintendo. Asif first frequented the Shack when it was sCary's Shugashack to find all things Quake. When he is not immersed in investments or gaming he is a purveyor of fine electronic music. Asif also has an irrational love of Cleveland sports.
