Watch this Earth Defense Force 5 gameplay and prepare for battle

Here's a small taste of a full game that will feature over 100 missions and over 1000 arms to utilize.

Are you ready to defend the planet from an alien invasion? Earth Defense Force 5 is aiming to deliver just the excitement you're looking for, this time around featuring the first human-looking aliens in the series. The game will feature more than 100 missions and over 1000 usable weapons and the missions can be tackled with a teammate or three in co-op on a single screen (for two players) or online (for up to four players)

Below, Shacknews got a chance to play the game and you can feast your eyes on the missions and menus that you'll work through to customize your character's build before stepping out into the fight. Check out the gameplay and leave a comment!

Earth Defense Force 5 launches December 11, 2018, on PS4. If you preorder, you get a handful of cool things at launch:

• Pure Decoy Launcher 16 variations set - A special decoy which will dance and sing in the battlefield.
• Volcanic Cracker - You can get the Wing Diver weapon and start using it from the beginning and you may only receive this weapon by pre-ordering the game.
• Powered Exoskeleton Nix: Gold Coat - A commander machine shining with gold which boarding is admitted only by an early recruit.
