THQ Nordic adds Alone in the Dark & Act of War to rapidly growing list of IPs
Darksiders, Red Faction, Timesplitters, Kingdom of Amalur, and others now have a couple new buddies.
THQ Nordic has been incredibly busy as of late. The Australian publisher has been executing an internal plan of sorts by grabbing up IPs like Kingdoms of Amalur and Timesplitters. This past week, the company snatched up a couple more with survival horror Alone in the Dark and RTS Act of War joining the growing stable under the THQ Nordic umbrella.
There's not a whole lot of info to add to this deal, which involved grabbing the properties from Atari Europe SAS, but it may be time to start theorizing what is happening behind the scenes at THQ Nordic. Specific plans haven't been revealed for all of the acquired properties, but the team is certainly grabbing properties that can contend against other popular games within their respective genres.
With the right development teams at the helm, Alone in the Dark, Red Faction, Kingdoms of Amalur, and Timesplitters can return to the mainstream with experiences unique enough and recognizable enough to make a significant impact. It'd be surprising if any of these titles are beyond the conceptualizing stage at this time, so we'll have to wait and see.
