Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is a new single-player card-based Witcher RPG
Get your hands on the game and the official Gwent release this October.
Single-player card-passed adventure Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is coming to give players another taste of the world of The Witcher once more. The standalone title is headed to PC via GOG next week, so you don't even have to wait very long to get your hands on it.
The new game will offer "new and never-before-seen" areas of The Witcher's expansive world for players to explore as it follows "war-veteran queen" Meve, who presides over the Northern Realms, Lyria and Rivia. Meve, after a harrowing chain of events, sets out on a journey featuring, as the game's description states, "destruction and revenge." Probably want to stay out of her way, then.

Thronebreaker will include several quests that task players with gathering resources, engaging in battle with a wide variety of enemies, and earning skills that will be quite familiar to anyone who's ever spent time with Gwent.
Speaking of Gwent, Thronebreaker will be launching alongside the full release of Gwent: The Witcher Card Game as it finally leaves beta and heads to PC on October 23. Like you didn't have enough to play this fall, right?
If you're interested in trying out both games, make sure you clear your schedule for that day in October, and keep checking back at Shacknews for additional updates.
