Get back on the battlefield with some premium in your pocket.

Fresh off an open beta session for their new World War 2 shooter Battlefield 5, EA has made the Premium Pass for 2016’s Battlefield 1 available for free on Origin. The promotion includes all the perks of the Premium Pass at no cost to owners of Battlefield 1. The promotion runs from today until September 18, with those who add the pass to their library keeping it forever.

The Battlefield 1 Premium Pass includes all the major expansions for the game, including 20 new multiplayer maps, over 30 new weapons, a huge wad of battlepacks, and server join priority over non-Premium players.

It was revealed during EA’s big Battlefield 5 announcement that the game would no longer be offering a Premium Pass, instead offering cosmetics and battlepacks for microtransactions while making all new maps and modes available to owners of Battlefield 5. The Battlefield 1 Premium Pass appears to be the last of its breed (for now). You can grab the Premium Pass on the Origin Store.

Is the game worth it for single player campaign alone? It's only 5$ now.

Probably not. There isnt much to it, and the jumping from character to character was weird for me.

I really liked it. I played it having come off a second listen of Hardcore History and watching a bunch of BBC documentaries on WWI. So it was like finishing two semesters of history with a trip somewhere. It's probably the best BF SP campaign since Bad Company. The BF3 was way too CODesque, BF4 was a step up but eh still.

The stealth stuff is bad, but there's a few neat moments in there.

There are surprisingly some really nice moments in the campaign (releasing the dove, the aerial battles, some other stuff).

It's not amazing or anything but I found it mostly fun.

It's worth $5, but don't expect anything amazing. I quit playing after reaching the Italy mission because it was so ridiculous.

Yes. Campaign is pretty good. Far better than the joke in BF4.

Better than BF3 and BF4's campaign, but that's a very low bar.

There are many better FPS campaigns released in the past 3 years that are more worth your time.

I installed BF4 over the weekend. I booted up the game and it said "you don't have the expansions installed". I looked and sure enough Origin did not install any of the expansions for me. I had to install them one by one. WTF!!!

      IT'S 2018 EA!!!!!!

EA wants you to be acutely aware of how each of those expansions is a separate entity that provides value. They want you to feel the existential thrill as you manually install each one and think to yourself, "purchase validated! I love buying post-release content, for all the value it brings to my life!"

I think that's permanent. That game had like 100 players towards the end, so they just started giving it all away.

Sweet God...if I could only devote my life to one single Battlefield game going forward, which should it be? Which one is going to stand the test of time? BF4? BF1? BFV? ?!?

BF5 has a lot of the right ingredients. But it's probably going to be months after release before they can fix all the problems I saw in the beta.

If they fix them. There's no platinum pass for sale this time so they're free to drop the game if it underperforms, as they did Mass Effect Andromeda and Battlefront 2.

Definitely BF4, at least until a proper sequel arrives that doesn't shit the bed.

I don't know about that but it's easily the one with the most general appeal and a playerbase that sticks around.

I think BFV is gonna bomb, just like BF1 did, relatively speaking.
