Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition to feature revamped Arena Mode
Developer Larian is hard at work on crafting Divinity: Original Sin 2 into the ultimate RPG experience.
It’s no big secret that we are big fans of Divinity: Original Sin 2 here at Shacknews. The game is enjoying its year-long reign as the Best RPG of 2017, but developer Larian is not content to relax and enjoy the accolades. Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition is mere weeks away and the details of its improvements and enhancements are sure to delight fans and potential newcomers. One of the biggest improvements will come in the form of a completely overhauled Arena Mode that will offer hours of fun for new or returning players.
Arena Mode will include two main game modes, the first being Classic Deathmatch, where combatants battle each other until one remains. The second mode is called Kill the King. In this mode, participants will be tasked with protecting a VIP from death. These modes can be played on 13 maps that have been optimized for tactical turn-based combat and includes five brand new arenas. Arena Mode will also offer Mutators that grant special skills or give matches special parameters that will offer a fresh take on the vanilla modes.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition’s Arena Mode will offer solo gameplay, online multiplayer PVP, and pass-the-controller Hot Seat mode, so you can play with your friends no matter where you are. Arena Mode also introduces 16 characters to the game, including some first-time playable characters such as Malady, Zandalor, and Radeka, each with their own unique set of skills and abilities.
The fun begins when the game releases on August 31 for Xbox One and PS4. It will be available for owners of the original Original Sin 2 on PC as a free update.
