Gamescom 2018: DayZ announced for Xbox Game Preview, rising from the dead this month
Another staple in the survival genre heads to consoles via the Xbox One.
Console gamers have been enjoying the company of formerly exclusive PC survival experiences, with PUBG officially launching on Xbox One soon and H1Z1 making the rounds on PS4. Another popular name is making the shift to consoles later this month, as well. The full DayZ survival game is headed to Xbox Game Preview on the Xbox One on August 29, 2018.
With Fallout 76 and, now, DayZ on the horizon, console gamers are getting potentially impressive chances to really dig into the survival genre. In DayZ, players will explore, scavenge, and fight to survive in the post-soviet country of Chernarus. There's an unknown virus that is turning the population into infected walkers, but you and other players are immune.
DayZ is one of the pioneers for the survival genre and it will be interesting to see how the development process proceeds after a lengthy roadmap unfolded for PUBG on Xbox One. The announcement happened during the Inside Xbox show at Gamescom 2018 and there are a lot more announcements coming. Stay tuned to Shacknews for more.
