Diablo 3 Eternal Collection for Nintendo Switch leaked, will release by end of 2018
A now-deleted article has spilled all of the beans on this long-rumored marriage of Nintendo and Blizzard.
Update (August 16, 2018 - 9:08 AM PT): As predicted, Nintendo has gone ahead with an official confirmation of the Diablo 3 Eternal Collection for Nintendo Switch. The team also shared a new announcement video featuring Reggie Fils-Aime of Nintendo and Mike Morhaime of Blizzard.
Original story: After an earlier Diablo 3 rumor inspired by an unnamed source and what many thought was a confirmation from Blizzard itself, another leak has sprung and this one is a doozy. A Forbes article went live and was immediately taken down, but not before we learned of a Diablo 3 Eternal Collection coming to the Nintendo Switch by the end of 2018.
The Eternal Collection of Diablo 3 will include the 2014 Reaper of Souls expansion and the Rise of the Necromancer pack, which includes the Necromancer class from Diablo 2. The report from Eurogamer also reports that the Nintendo Switch version of the game will feature Nintendo themed in-game bonuses centered on the Zelda franchise. Echoes of the Mask cosmetic wings, a Tri-force portrait frame, a chicken pet, and the Legend of Ganondorf cosmetic armor set are listed.
The leak from Forbes suggests that the game will launch "later this year" and it shares that the game will support four-players either playing together on one Switch or wirelessly on four Switch units. Via the leak, the game has a $59.99 price tag. This is the most thorough leak of them all and either Nintendo or Blizzard will likely have to make an official announcement in the near future.
