Pokemon Go takes home the gold as the top grossing mobile app in July
Still catchin' 'em all – in terms of your money, that is.
When it comes to being massively popular, don't ever count out Pokemon. That's your first mistake. Pokemon Go has continued to sweep when it comes to revenue, ranking as the number one top grossing mobile game during July 2018, according to data from AppAnnie. Yes, even above games like Fortnite and Candy Crush Saga on the App Store. In terms of worldwide accomplishments, it was even fourth in terms of worldwide ranks, which means people are still playing the ever-loving Poke-stuffing out of this game, if you couldn't already guess.
It's not hard to understand why, either. Though it stumbled a bit when it first debuted, Pokemon Go has been changing tremendously over the past few months. Recently, it finally introduced some of the social features players had been clamoring for ever since the game released: friends and trading as well as gifting. Being able to trade with others has made a huge difference in the game's scope, and what you're capable of doing.
Beyond that, there have been plenty of new Pokemon added to the game, along with regular events from Niantic that keep changing up the landscape in meaningful ways. It's easy to see why people still want to play as aspiring Pokemon masters while spending time in the real world.
Are you still playing Pokemon Go and having a blast? Let us know, and what you're most looking forward to in terms of what Niantic still hasn't added yet.
