Metro Exodus limited edition features expansion pass, devs state no content withheld for preorders
Preorder bonuses also vary between platforms.
Metro Exodus is delivering some post-apocalyptic FPS action in early 2019 and trailers thus far tease a gameplay experience with an expanded scope and scale over the previous critically acclaimed games. Preorders have gone live and, if you're wanting to spend a few extra bucks, a limited edition version is available. An expansion pass for Metro Exodus is also revealed in this announcement, but details for future content haven't been revealed.
The Aurora limited edition version of the game includes a steelbook case, 32-page art book, and the Metro Exodus expansion pass all in a metal outer case inspired by the steam locomotive used to traverse post-apocalyptic Russia in the game. The gold edition comes with the expansion pass as well. Preorders for Metro Exodus vary across platforms:
- All Xbox One pre-orders, physical or digital include a copy of Metro 2033 Redux – the first game in the Metro saga, remastered for the Xbox One
- All PlayStation 4 pre-orders, physical or digital, include a stunning Dynamic Theme based on the Metro Exodus ‘Winter’ artwork
- All physical PC pre-orders and Steam pre-orders include a digital art book and the Metro Exodus OST
The preorder trailer also revealed that some new gameplay for Metro Exodus will be going live on August 20, 2018. Interestingly, the press release states that no in-game content has been reserved for pre-order and "fans can order safe in the knowledge that however, wherever or whenever they buy Metro Exodus, they are getting the full experience as 4A Games intended it." A practice like this would be ideal across the board, but is unlikely.
Metro Exodus is due February 22, 2019, on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
