Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout battle royale beta release date revealed
Soon we'll be able to dive into what should be the hugest departure from the CoD: Black Ops formula in a long time.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 introduced us to the game's standard PvP via a few maps and modes, allowing players to push the game's servers and test out the new meta that a manual healing mechanic presents. The next major step in testing before launch is Blackout, the new Black Ops 4 battle royale mode that was announced earlier this year. Like the PvP beta, the Blackout beta goes live first for PlayStation 4 users on September 10, 2018.
The upcoming Blackout mode will not only capitalize on the battle royale genre, but also traverse the history of the Call of Duty Black Ops series with various assets from previous games. Characters from previous Black Ops games are playable and will be used on the largest Call of Duty map ever featuring locations inspired by Black Ops multiplayer maps.
As far as weapons go, there will be classic weapons from the Black Ops series featuring different ammo types. Guns and equipment will have to be scavenged for as they traverse the new map on foot or in land, sea, or air vehicles. Be sure to tune in to Shacknews on Twitch or YouTube when the beta goes live so you can see some gameplay of Blackout. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set to release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 12, 2018.
