Rockstar Games shows off new Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay footage
It's time to see things in action.
Rockstar Games has released a new gameplay trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2. Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to explore an intriguing new frontier as it acts as a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption, and will follow a different protagonist this time around: Arthur Morgan.
The video is accompanied by a female voiceover who narrates the action onscreen, explaining a bit of what we can expect from the upcoming game, that should offer plenty of different content than what we enjoyed in the original Red Dead Redemption. The trailer details an American West landscape with swamps, deserts, forest, cities, and tons of other locales that you'll get to spend time exploring, each with their own set of various activities and missions, as well as local personality and flavor.
You'll run with the Van der Linda gang while checking out what the western landscape has to offer, and they'll basically be your homies for the duration of the game. You'v got to interact with the gang members on a regular basis, whether you're just hanging out around the campfire or learning more about them as people. Yes, you're going to have to pretend you're a social animal if you want to make any progress.
Your camp is an important setpiece, and you'll eat, sleep, do chores, and even play games together while forging a strong relationship. You have to collect food, money, and a swath of other goodies, too, to make sure everyone has everything they need.
In short, it looks like Rockstar Games is busy with making Red Dead Redemption 2 one of the most engaging adventures it can, and it's going to be vastly different from the first game. Check out the new look at gameplay above, and get ready to seek out the next trailer in the near future, which Rockstar has promised to show off with additional information about combat and other goodies going forward.
