Sign up for The Great Quakeholio Tournament at QuakeCon 2018
Shacknews Electronic Sports is hosting an id Software gauntlet-style tournament at this year's QuakeCon.
Shacknews Electronic Sports rocked the planet with our World Championship at E3 2018 and we are coming to QuakeCon 2018 this weekend with our next major tournament. Sign up today for The Great Quakeholio Tournament. One hundred and twenty-eight players will fight for Shacknews immortality. The competition will feature a $5000 prize pool and is open to players age 18 and up. The Shackbattle begins at 7 PM on Friday August 10, 2018 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.
We will be on the third floor of the Convention Center in the San Antonio 1-3 Ballrooms. Our gauntlet-style tournament will feature id Software classics including Doom, Doom 2, Quake, Quake 2, Quake Live, and some other surprises. Do you have what it takes to do it for Shacknews at QuakeCon 2018? Sign up today and you might be The Great Quakeholio Champion at the end of our two-day tournament.
If you can't make it to QuakeCon 2018, be sure to tune in to our Shacknews' Twitch channel to watch The Great Quakeholio Tournament. First place will take home $3000, second place will take home $1500, and third place will walk away with $500. Are you bad enough to do it for Shacknews this weekend?

True story we had a Mormon kid in our circle and he threw the best LAN parties because his house was the biggest.
But yeah, there was a strict no swearing policy, and co-ed hours ended at sundown, the only one of us who had a girlfriend had to send her home every day at 7, and we could drink caffeine, but we had to have brought it ourselves.
I was asked to leave once, and I shaped up and flew straight after that because I really wanted to play Quake II with these guys.-

I think it was more the stream of explitives that got me booted.
The occasional shit or damn I think was okay, but yeah, after several missed rails and a nasty fight over the quad damage on Edge, I was known to just yell out the Seven Dirty Words You Can't Say On Television.
They also knew I smoked, so I was on thin ice as it was.

Lots of people here playing Quake Champions, so I fired it up
- It's gotten a LOT better, I guess I haven't played since the most recent patch
- The music is a TON better
- Waiting times still suck but they're manageable
- The latest Champion is a dick. He leaves this fire that kills you after he's gone.
I hope they launch this game for real tomorrow, it needs to be finished and in final F2P form already. -
