Prior to Sunday's Super Smash Bros. Melee Grand Finals, Nintendo had a special announcement to all EVO 2018 attendees and viewers.

There is a Nintendo Direct set to hit this week and it will be dedicated to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The Direct will run at 7AM PT on Wednesday, August 8.

No word on any other specifics regarding this Direct, as it can be anything from new characters to details on Ultimate's various game modes. But tune in this Wednesday, as we learn more about the next Super Smash Bros. game. Shacknews will have all the news covered, so be sure to come back on that morning for more.
