Steelers WR Antonio Brown Is Your Madden 19 Cover Star
The charismatic wideout will grace the regular editions of the game while Terrell Owens will be plastered over the Hall of Fame edition.
Less than a month away from its worldwide release, EA has finally unveiled its cover athlete for Madden 19. This year, the honor belongs to the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown. The six-time Pro Bowler and two-time NFL receiving yards leader is arguably the best player at his position. Brown was recently revealed to be a member of the Madden 99 Club, a group of players who will be rated 99 (the highest possible rating) when the game ships. He is the first Steelers player to appear on the Madden cover since Troy Polamalu appeared opposite Larry Fitzgerald for Madden 10 back in 2009.
Brown entered the NFL as a sixth round draft pick out of Central Michigan and began his career as a special teams ace. By the start of the 2013 season, Brown had cemented himself as the top wide receiver on the team. Since he entered the league in 2010, no other player has more receptions or yards than Brown.
The speedy Brown is well known for being a speedy wideout who runs crisp routes and always makes the tough catch, but he also gained notoriety among fans and the general public for his on-field celebrations. A real-life Hingle McCringleberry, Brown often celebrates touchdowns with over the top dances and hip gyrations. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think he was possessed by the devil (now I sound like my grandmother).
Madden 19 will release for the PS4 and Xbox One on August 10. The game also marks the return of the series to the PC, where it will be available day and date with its console siblings. Those who opt for the Hall of Fame Edition of the game can begin playing three days early, while subscribers to EA’s Origin Access Premiere can hit the field beginning on August 2.
