Resourceful Spies Have Uncovered Phantom Doctrine's Release Date
The wait for this blend of espionage and XCOM-esque conflicts is a short one.
XCOM comparisons or frequent and understood when you first look at Phantom Doctrine, but this upcoming espionage thriller from CreativeForge Games and published by Good Shepherd has a lot more to offer. We won't have to wait very long to find out just how much, as Phantom Doctrine has been given an August 14, 2018 release date for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
In the press release for the announcement, the team says to expect a 40+ hour single-player experience that is reinforced by a new game plus campaign that features additional content. Phantom Doctrine also features a one-on-one multiplayer mode so players can see who best manages their team of spies.
For those not in the know, Phantom Doctrine is set at the peak of the Cold War. Players lead an organization known as The Cabal as they work to uncover a global conspiracy that seeks to world leaders against each other. There's a flexible turn-based conflict mode with battlefield large enough to allow legitimate stealth tactics, investigation gameplay that gets players deeply involved in the underlying narrative, character recruitment and engagement that is enhanced by spy tactics and resources, and more.
