Giannis Antetokounmpo Chosen As NBA 2K19 Cover Athlete

2K Sports has chosen to sprinkle a little Greek seasoning onto the top selling basketball game.

Unquestionably the most important victory for the people of Greece since toppling the Persians back at the Battle of Marathon, 2K Sports has announced that Giannis Antetokounmpo will grace the cover of NBA 2K19. Toppling a list of candidates that included John Wall, Damian Lillard, Kawhi Leonard, and DeMarcus Cousins, Antetokounmpo is the first internationally-born superstar to receive this honor.

When asked to comment on the announcement, the “Greek Freak” explained, “I am honored to be the first international player featured on the cover of NBA 2K19. I love playing NBA 2K so this means a lot to me. I have worked hard to earn recognition in the NBA and being on the cover of NBA 2K19 is a dream come true.”

You’ll have the chance to get your hands on the hottest Greek export since olive oil when NBA 2K19 releases for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 7. Players who opt for the more expensive 20th Anniversay Edition of the game will get Los Angeles Lakers legend LeBron James on their cover.
