Mario Tennis Aces Adds Diddy Kong, Birdo, and Koopa Paratroopa For Free This Fall

Mario Tennis Aces is welcoming a whole host of new characters into the game this fall, and you don't have to do anything to get them. No, there's no DLC you have to worry about, no fees to pony up for, and no special circumstances. It's just Nintendo tossing you a bone with some additional characters you can hit the courts with. With the game being as challenging as it is in some places, the extra help is something we'll all be grateful for.

This fall, you'll get to play as Diddy Kong, Birdo, and Koopa Paratroopa as the trio are added into the game as a selection of free characters. An update should release later this year that brings the new faces into the title, so all you should have to do, per se, is turn on your Switch one day this fall and jump into a game as one of your new faves.

There's a pretty hefty roster on offer for the tennis title, which I reviewed here at Shacknews with a 9/10 score. There's a lot to do, even if you don't prefer to play a ton of classical tennis matches, and it's a breeze to play. Expect to spend a whole lot of time within the confines of the game, especially if you're a fan of the previous entries in the series.
